Archos 9 is a competitor iPad

Here's a new competitor for the iPad, the Archos 9. For Henri Crohas, founder and CEO of Archos, the French technology company, presenting an ultra-mobile handheld computer with the first touch-screen technology such as Archos 9 with operating system Windows 7 is only an important breakthrough.

Unlike Apple's iPad, Archos 9 is the choice for who want to experience the new digital touch-screen technology and have the option to use it as a computer complete with a variety of additional equipment that can be taken anywhere.

French products with touch screen technology called Archos 9 Tablet PC uses Atom Z515 processor made by Intel Corp. with a computing speed of 1.2 GHz and capable of operating for approximately five hours. Weighing less than 800 grams, the Archos 9 has a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and 60 GB hard disk capacity, and Bluetooth wireless connections, and two antennas DVB-T digital TV.

Archos 9 touch screen does not have the ability multi touch as on a desktop computer products, such as artificial TouchSmart 600 Hewlett-Packard. That is because, one of the weaknesses of Windows 7 in introducing the touch-screen technology is not provided all the basic applications able to run this multi touch activity.
