SONY just unveiled a PSP successor, at an event in Tokyo. It claims the portable system is as powerful as the PS 3, which means it will be supposedly able to produce PS 3-like graphics.
SONY says the PSP 2 will hit stores by year-end. SONY PSP 2 will probably do better than the lackluster PSP, it should have Monster Hunter on it from the start, which is the only reason the PSP had any form of success.

The PSP showed that better hardware was irrelevant against the DS if you dont have a good library of games. Cost, weight and battery life is very important for success.
It is presumed that PSP 2 will be expensive and that will put people off. Customers ultimately stay away because of the lack of games. Also battery life is going to be awful, power with no breakthroughs in battery technology. Proprietary memory card, expect high prices and premiums on games that higher capacity.
Many will stick to low-graphics because SONY has failed to address the major things which made the original PSP fail. In the hand held/Mobile game world you can no longer expect the consumer to pay high price for hand held titles. Phone users have a hard time paying more for a game. The PSP 2 should have the most graphically intense stuff due to the system being able to command higher prices for games.
