Under the circumstances, a week long event in Barcelona Sony displayed racks full of phones, but didn�t have the attention. The only xperia play station was the centre of attraction. Sony announced the xperia play would be available world wide by this spring.

According to Sony Ericcson almost 50 games will be ready to launch in spring, the users of play station will be able to buy these games through a virtual play station stores, accessed via the Android marketplace.

Though a report by Interpret a research firm and it has clearly indicated that there is a significant rise in Smart phone gaming, and the usage of PSP/DS is on decline. However, the trial of xperia play station indicates that it capture the market.
The main feature of xperia is that it is not only a PSP with phone, Sony have completely redesigned it from the ground up. It has a respectable look, and it is a regular touch screen phone running Android 2.3 with the game buttons, by which you can slide out the panel, it has triggers on the back there you will find a pair of touch pads which can act as joysticks.
The games for the xperia have more kinds of input because the screen itself remains touch-sensitive while it is in game mode. It has more potential in puts than iphone or a play station 3.
The designer of xperia deliberately left out accelerometer, convinced that gamers while playing don�t want to sweep their phone.
